it's that lonely time of night

left work a bit past midnight, hit the dive for a few beers and a bite, and got home about 20 minutes ago. cats are sleeping after being pacified by treats and pets, the husband is long asleep. bed is some time off, so i'm enjoying a few more, fussing on the internet and enjoying some porch time. it's 34 degrees right now, but i'm layers.

not a bad night by any means, but it's still lonesome when you're the only around.

I'm in the same place: wife and cat are asleep, beers are being enjoyed (maybe one more?), and I'm fussing on the internet. Except that I'm indoors, and it's probably closer to 50F outside....

Here's the picture, anyway - maybe what DU needs is a function to make other DUers wake the heck up. As in "Hey, slackers, we're still here! Get out of bed and log back in!"

I'm just having coffee though because might as well get this day started. I'm in the east though so it's no big deal. Wishing you all a good night and a good day.

Funny how where you've lived for a long time shapes your perspective on this

i've lived almost my entire life in the northern part of the state. we got a few inches of snow last week and they're calling for more on monday.

humidity is at 100%, so it feels worse than it is. i'll move back inside when the laptop battery gets low.

Last night I was snoring softly by 8PM. I've been out driving before dawn most of this week. It'll take a day or two for me to recover and get back up to speed at home.
