(8,462 posts)I'm horrible with crosswords but my 81yo mom does them in pen.
Though she does complain about all the technology terms in use today in puzzles, and doesn't know what the internet is like (she used a green screen back in the 80s at work before retiring) she via puzzles knows quite a bit of Internet jargon and tech terms.

Re reviews: yeah, that's Rex Parker AKA Michael Sharp. Often a tough guy to please.

(6,996 posts)I've been doing NY Times Crosswords for over 40 yrs. I must have been a familiar sight on the morning subway. In my usual seat with paper folded and pen in hand.
I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret Farrar at a Crosswords Tournament years ago. She is a legend and we still observe her rules for construction and solving of the puzzles.

The Arizona Daily Star in Tucson has a Meryl Reagle puzzle on Thursdays. He's a good puzzler.

R.S. actually buys the Times just for the puzzle. He reads the Post. Mom reads the Times and does the Poist puzzle.
Wait'll I tell R.S. that his puzzle was made by a DUer!!
