Last outdoor party of the year, weather was perfect. Had about 75 people at this home with a huge backyard. Our "stage" was actually a basketball court so there was tons of room and everybody was dancing. Always a good sign!
First photo is the whole band, second is my lead guitarist and I getting into the groove on Otis Rush's "All Your Love (I Miss Lovin').

(19,379 posts)Yes it's a great release. Nothing else matters for a while once we start playing.
Got another gig coming up at the Naval Air Museum at the old Alameda Naval Air Station. It's a banquet for the CPO association. Should be a lot of fun.

(5,029 posts)Makes me feel old, been there done that. Fond memories of NAS Alameda. Would you guys do a DU request for that Gig? From a shipmate to other shipmates. Actually would you do two requests? How about posting an audio of a song that you guys do for us DUers that follow your posts? RR
On Edit: While I was not from Georgia I was from Kentucky, had the same affect on my young mind back then, made me who and what I am today.

Extra money (GOTTA love that) and we'd always take a party gig on the afternoon of a bar gig.

What we hated about the parties is that no one was there for the music -- they were focused on the
game or the grilling or the socializing.
.
What we loved about the parties is that no one was there for the music -- we turned them into extra
rehearsal sessions and worked on material without any of the partygoers being the wiser.

"Wait, didn't they just play that exact same song a min.... TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!
.
And then we had the great focused appreciative barcrowd later.
