http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/04/deadly-spiders-supermarket-bananas-_n_4214464.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009A British family was forced to flee their home in Hampton this week after finding Brazilian wandering spiders on bananas purchased at nearby Sainsbury's store. According to local reports, Consi Taylor was halfway through eating one of the fruits when she discovered the deadly spiders on the supermarket bananas.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, which lists the particular wandering spiders as the most venomous type of spider, a mere 0.006 mg of the arachnid's venom could kill a mouse. (Oddly, a certain toxin from the Brazilian wandering spider's venom has also been shown to help erectile dysfunction.)

(14,400 posts)1. There was a guy in Canada
working at a supermarket that found a Wandering Spider in a banana shipment about 20 years ago now. He thought it was just your run of the mill tarantula so he took it home and made a pet out of it.
He had it for awhile until he mentioned how aggressive his new spider was. His dad took it to the local ag center and they figured out what the thing was. He didn't bring it back home.
