Iron Bowl

I grew up in Alabama so today is the Big Day.

And I'm a little relieved that I can enjoy it from 1500 miles away. The most critical Iron Bowl games are the one's before a leap year because there's an extra day before the rematch for the losers. The problem with the Auburn/Alabama game is not that the fans are sore losers. The problem is that so many are insufferable winners.

The rivalry seems to have tamed a bit after the oaks were poisoned in Auburn and the tragic tornado hit Tuscaloosa. I have a lot of Auburn friends, and we all seem to take it in friendly stride these days. No need to be insufferable, win or lose!

Auburn, Samford, Arizona, Northern Arizona.

The latter two are "adopted" since I lived in Tucson and Flagstaff.

Should be a fun day.

When I saw Davis drop back in the End Zone, I thought there was a good chance for a return. Both teams played an epic game.

I think this ending beats anything I've seen (Even BC/Miami)

No way you’re gonna get four quarters out of ASU.

But methinks ASU is gonna run away with it. Wish I was there.

Had to scramble to find a sportsbar in my podunk town that's gonna have it on. I found one!

If somebody had told me at the beginning of the season that we would be hosting the PAC12 Championship game, I would have wondered what they were smoking.

And it was also good to see the Devils win handily again after a few close ones.

But I'll take it. Too many of my teams don't ever win much!

At least, since the Devils are playing Stanford next week, I may get to stay home and watch.

(like I hate the swamp lizards of the University of the peninsular state what lies below Georgia) but I have a soft spot for Auburn just because a friend from my youth was (rightfully) kicked out of there.

sorry bout y'alls Roll Tide.

He might be kicked out anyway. Bama does not like to lose to anybody, but a loss to Auburn is like a knife to the heart of a Bama fan or player or coaching staff. Unbelievable that they have such sorry kicking ability, which makes it even more ridiculous that they used a field goal to win, especially a long one, with a neophyte kicker.
