Would someone please give me the latest on the ACA...

A friend of mine who is terribly misguided, anti-government, doesn't vote, and is totally into everything Davis Icke says, just texted me and said she read on the Internet that her insurance is going to coast $500 per month and if she doesn't pay starting January 1 her income tax will be taken. First of all, Isn't the president extending the mandate to get covered until 2015? Also, my understanding is that if someone chooses to opt out and the fine is something like $100 for the whole year. Please let me know what you know and what sites I can direct her to!

That's how I did it.

Tell her to use earbuds with her phone and call when she's got something else to do, like drive or go for a walk or clean house.

That way it won't be a pain to be on hold. I called when I left for my daily two mile walk and got an answer about half way into it.

Things vary from state to state so I don't think we can answer questions very well for her state.

I don't think that the things you think about the program are very accurate.

The mandate extension is for small businesses, the fine is higher than $100, but varies, I think.

Have her call- it's her problem and her duty to get answers. Sure, you can call for her if you want, but one of you has to.

Nobody here is going to have guaranteed accurate information for your friend's insurance needs.

good luck

Western medicine. I hope the fine isn't much more than what I'm thinking. I'm calling for myself tomorrow anyway so I should be able to find out some accurate info. Thank you for your response!

I called the one in Fresno.

The man who helped me was named "Osama", which I found really fun!

What are the odds?

Hey, maybe you'll get him on the phone, too!
