My last night of Channukah.

This was one of the strangest holidays I have ever had (drove to NC from OK with 4 Chihuahuas in the backseat). Family get-togethers are interesting.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and Channukah.

I wish I had posted the one of my puppy lighting the menorah, that is a cute one. I think it is on DU somewhere.

It was a gift from my mom when I was at my first job in NC. I wasn't allowed to have pets, so this was my pet kitty. LOL!

She got it for me because we weren't allowed to have pets in housing. It is my favorite menorah.

It's one of the things I miss most about not living near my family. My aunt converted to Judaism in 1980 when she married my uncle. I grew up celebrating Jewish and Catholic holidays.

Driving from OK to NC was a pain! Coming back was worse because of the rain and fog. Thankfully, we beat the snow!

on Christmas Eve. We were stranded in eastern Oklahoma as a result of the Christmas blizzard of 2009. I was an unhappy camper.

Driving with Chihuahuas must be a treat. I have one Chihuahua and two other idiot dogs. They make for, ah, interesting road trips. The Chihuahua is the worst.

The Chihuahuas were actually not too bad. They slept almost the entire way and only cried (one of them) when the car slowed to a stop. But, trying to get them to all go potty was a half hour chore. mine aren't used to walking on leashes. The fog was so bad when we got to OK we couldn't see the toll plazas until we were right on top of them, and then we turned into the wrong street when we got home because visibility was nil. 10 minutes after stepping into the house, my phone sent an alert "Fog Warning: 0% visibility". Well, duh!

Yes, thank you, I've had wonderful holidays; I use the plural because I celebrate everyone's holidays even when I have to do so alone. My feeling of connection with other people around the world is strong enough that I enjoy celebrating at the same time whether we know each other or not. I admit it was more fun in L.A. and NYC where I had easy access to people from everywhere!

It is fun to celebrate other holidays. It creates a shared connection that transcends the mundane and, IMO, brings people closer together on a global level. So, you enjoy all the holidays you can!
