My cat keeps whining to go out and then wants in 30 seconds later.

There is a cold rain outside. When he does come back in he runs through the house yowling.
Nothing is wrong with him. He's just a brat.

Anyone else has a cat who does this? Maybe he's picking up on my pain about my beloved Crimson Tide's loss to the Barn.

My female calico has been meowing at the front door for the last few days. There is no way that I'm going outside though since I'm iced in at my apartment.

with the added twist that it was too stupid to figure out after 19 years that the weather was the same no matter which door we opened.

Very spoiled. Outside now whining to come in. I will give him 5 minutes and then he will be over it.

I've had cat's with urinary tract problems. I know the symptoms.

Snow on the ground, and freezing rain on top of that.

No arguing with a cat.

who does that. He still mostly wants to be outside. He'll come in, eat and hang out for awhile, get his ears scratched, but then back out he goes. I live in L.A., so it's not TOO cold, but I leave one door open at night a tad so he can come and go. Otherwise, he gets too frantic. Cats - minds of their own, but we love them anyway, right?

No joke, I lived there for 20 years and not in the most upscale area would I even think of such a thing. Loved the town in general but not enough to die for it.

A reminder to watch which behaviors you reinforce. I read about a family who encouraged their dog to do his business outdoors by attending the event and clapping and cheering for him whenever he performed. Pretty soon they had a dog that demanded a full audience for each event. If there was one soul still in the house, he refused to go and would bark and complain at the top of his lungs until everyone gathered to watch his trick. They never did manage to break that habit.

on the ledge of the picture window when she wants back in. It was 10 degrees outside Friday night and she was outside for 4 hours before she wanted in. I was wanting to go to bed, but I stayed up for her. Sometimes she can be a real pain in the ass.

They blame you for everything. Seriously. One of my cats in particular will sneeze and then give me a dirty look as if I made him go through that momentary discomfort. Cracks me up.

and sings. She stands out there, or wanders around a little bit, yowling. Doesn't seem to be for any reason. Just orating, cat-style, I guess... It's pretty funny, though. She has her aria time every night, it seems, after we're in bed and watching TV or something getting ready to doze off. There she goes. If it's 1am - must be the Onnie alert! We have four cats. They all have their own quirks. It's quite fun! Especially when you add in the dog!

She was pestering me the other day, so I said, "Fine -- you want to go out, here ya go." I opened the door and as soon as the first blast hit, she was off like a shot to a warm place.

I don't get it, either.
