(6,154 posts)Precision is a feature of a measurement and thus the tool used to perform the measurement. It's true that a jump of one deg F represents a smaller unit of energy / temp than a jump of one deg C. But both scales are technically infinitely precise. Just keep pushing the decimal place to the right, assuming the tool you are using is cable of the needed precision.
Of course the scale we should be using is neither. We should be using Kelvin But then who want's to say it's a toasty 305.15 K outside today?
