Al Pacino fans...Great news...




Al Pacino is among the honorees who will receive the 2011 National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama on Monday in a ceremony at the White House.

Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, Alan Arkin to Star in Action-Comedy 'Stand Up Guys' (Exclusive)

The event, held at the East Room, will be live streamed on the White House website.

Pacino, who starred in Dog Day Afternoon, The Godfather trilogy and Scarface, will receive the medal "for his contrbutions as an actor and director to American film and theater." The veteran was cited for being "an enduring and iconic figure" and "has become one of the most outstanding and accomplished American artists."

Other honorees for the National Medal of Arts include painter Will Barnet, poet Rita Dove, curator/philanthropist Emily Rauh Pulitzer, sculptor Martin Puryear, music vet Mel Tillis, pianist Andre Watts and the United Service Organization.

Also Andre Watts, an amazing pianist and a very nice man. As an artist he is so fun to work with and he gives back to you more than you can give to him during performance. I have long loved the time I worked with him. There are a lot of great pianists but he has a touch unlike any other.
