I'm really angry, and depressed.
And I have no idea why!
Everything is going ok, family get-together tomorrow, looks like it should go all right.
So why am I so cranky tonight?
Anxious?
Bored?
Lonely?
Scared about tomorrow?

(149,661 posts)Maybe the holidays contribute to your state of mind...
A lot of people feel that they're supposed to be happy at this time of year, and they get upset if they're not.
Wish I could help you more...

(46,340 posts)You'd be my "Gramma" if you'd like to be, I miss my real Gramma.
She died in 1989.

(149,661 posts)Tell you what, I'll be your step-Gramma! Will that work for you?
Archae
(46,340 posts)I am 54, but you'd still be a wonderful "Gramma" to me.
I know you sure are, to your own family.

So not really old enough, lol!
But that doesn't matter...
Honorary Grammas can be any age.

(46,340 posts)I think when we have the "white elepant" gift exchange, I'll be too busy laughing to feel depressed.
Thanks rrneck.

Put Boehner's picture on it?

(6,151 posts)In fact, a collage of GOPers would be nice. You could assign value points to each.

Have you had a history of emotional problems?
How has your job, romantic, and personal life been in recent days. Be brutally honest. Any one of these are perfectly normal sources of angst.
Have you been under any stress in recent months, years? It doesn't have to be obvious, stress builds over time.
The holidays represent a love hate dynamic even for the best of us, and believe me I'm not the best of us. This is a time of year when we compare ourselves to others and ask why am I not like that, why do I not have that many friends, why am I not as happy as the songs and consumerism want me to be. Don't listen to them. Just be! If that is not enough then just say fuck it, bah humbug. Wait till the holidays are over. If you STILL feel depressed then maybe it's time to look at the issue. Don't beat yourself up over it otherwise.
And merry Christmas , even if it's a tough one

(11,795 posts)I'm not angry. Just anxious and depressed.
I know why, but I'm not posting on the web.
I'm sorry you're hurting. I hope you have a good holiday.
This god damn weather isn't helping.

These are the times that try men's souls - when that son of a howah plow truck breaks a warren hub, it won't move a goddammed inch! And we try to stuff a couple pagan feasts, some nice parables about hope and sharing, a big accounting close, 3 "unexpected" wild-ass storms, and an evening or 2 of rockin' finger food, (If Auntie does'nt get into the wine too early). Don't make perfection the enemy of a reasonable succcess, hug the host(s), smile and wave. I got the idiot BIL off his "I'm the smartest" meme somehow, talking about cretons, scrapple, head cheese and hog maws.Thank the (deity or spirit of your choice) he wound down some, and went away early. On to the next, take a deep breath......

You'll be okay. I bet you'll even have fun.
