Are you a special feature junkie? Do you live with a special feature junkie?

My wife is a junkie when it comes to special feature junkie. Movies or TV shows whatever it is she loves Behind the scenes videos Audio commentary. The making of etc whatever it is my wife will watch/listen to those.

When she gets a new movie or TV show that have these gems in them she goes through and watches each one just about EVERY TIME she watches

Well long story short I got her season 6 of Mad Men and well the Audio commentaries are not on for this season. She is just heart broken.

For her listening to Matt Weinmers (?) commentary on ever episode gave her a depth of understanding that just watching the show didn't.

I mean she doesn't want to hurt my feelings. We only got one (1) thing for each other this Christmas and she isn't blaming me but I can tell she feels less excited about getting this season.

normally these other seasons she would break open the package and watch every episode than she would repeat the whole season with commentary. Now she wouldn't just watch one episode at night she does like marathon watching.

My wife isn't the jewelry wearer or clothes junkie or stuff like that. She likes books, and DVD and Cd's but her one indulgence is Bath and Body works Warm sugar something line. (that she is buying herself as a belated Christmas gift.)

So even though I didn't make the season set I feel guilty the commentary isn't there.

So I'm not sure why I started this thread other than to ask are there other people like my wife and do you find disappointment as well?

For the missing commentary, why don't you record your own commentary of the show and play it for her?

there is some rather shocking video in the special features of Moore's F911. No media outlet would touch that clip from the Iraq War.

Google Mad Men Season 6 DVD commentary and you get a lot of angry comments and reviews mentioning the missing commentary. Even the Blu-Ray set is missing it! It's sad how companies have whittled down the content they give us on products year after year. As a lover of video games I can tell you the same is true of limited edition video game releases. There was a time when you could expect the limited edition version to come with a colourful art book, audio cd, cloth map, perhaps a figurine, a coin and other goodies. Now you are lucky if there's just the audio cd. Or they sink to greedy price gouging practices.

For example I read a while back that for the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray release they decided to release at least 3 different versions each with slightly different box art and a few other differences. In comic books they would call these alternates I believe, same content inside but with limited edition covers. Anyway what they did was take the special features that would normally be on one release and split them up among the 3 versions. So if you wanted all the goodies you were now forced to buy the movie 3 times over. Underhanded, greedy and sad see this is just asking people to pirate your films. Give people what they want and don't be so fucking greedy you drive away or alienate your own customer base. But I see it time and again repeated all over the place.
