For Historic Nebraska Building, Fire, Then Ice, Then Sunshine

More than 40 buildings in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to the Omaha World Herald. One of those Main Street Historic District buildings was gutted by fire on Friday.
The Waterman Opera House, first erected in 1882, has changed quite a bit over the past 130 years. Until this week it housed Quart House Pub, the Cass Family Medicine clinic and the Plattsmouth Chiropractic Center and apartments.
After firefighters sprayed water to put out the fire, the building froze over. Then the sunlight streamed through the windows, and this sad, gorgeous postcard of a photo was born:
