these are some family heirloom type things - a Tiffany oil lamp that was converted to an electric lamp and a picture my grandmother painted oh, about 80 years ago
Patches wanted to know what was in the glass

(6,154 posts)I remember when this pic was released some time back. I think there's even an interactive version of it where you can mouse over the various domains and the like.

(22,000 posts)Except it would probably just be messy like yours. I'll have to get a shot of my desk later once the sun comes up.

(53,410 posts)I'm lucky I have my back to a wall. Almost everyone else has their back to the entrance with the room behind them. Almost zero privacy. It's interesting what some people have come up with to get privacy.

(53,410 posts)But you'd be able to tell they were tulips if you saw it straight on. I took it because someone said my cubicle looked pretty stark with that cement wall behind me.

(53,410 posts)And the one of Jackie Kennedy is 3 feet by 3 feet. Both were commissioned by my manager in another job but she owns them. I'm delighted you recognized Che! Most people don't and then I ask them if they've seen the movie The Motorcycle Diaries then they know who he is. She, my manager asked me to do one of him laughing and smiling because he always laughed.

(6,154 posts)Sorry to ask, I actually thought from your name that you were female. Ashling sounds like Ashley or a name like it.

We used to have a place out in the country in central Texas where we did craft stuff and I did woodturning. We called it Ashling Ranch. Ashling is Irish Gaelic (Anglicized) for Dream I think a closer spelling would be aisling (don't ask me why )
no way am I showing my desk area!

he got me back for that a few minutes after this picture was taken by jumping into the gate I was working there and it hit me in the forehead. It was a warm day and as you may know head wounds can bleed like a mofo. When it is warm they bleed even more. Little half inch cut scared everybody and stained my shirt pretty good, but other than a black eye for about a week it wasn't too bad. I did get the delicate lady treatment from the crew for the rest of the day, though. (in other words I got to sit on my ass and not do any work)
