Here is the story from the Laredo Morning-Times:

No one is free from crime in Laredo, not even the police.

At 6 a.m. Monday, a police officer arrived at the substation on the intersection of Bruni Court and San Francisco Avenue in Colonia Guadalupe to find that a marked unit had two tires missing.

An accompanying photo of the police unit on cinder blocks has been making the rounds on Facebook and has more than 8,000 "notes" on the Tumblr.

Officers reviewed the surveillance video from the cameras posted outside the substation. Footage showed a man parking his car next to the patrol unit and removing the tires, leaving the marked unit on cinder blocks, said Investigator Joe E. Baeza, Laredo Police Department spokesman.

Police also said the suspect stole the license plate from the unit. Officers followed leads to the 500 block of Garden Street. There, they noticed that a man had already mounted the tires on a Crown Victoria.

Police detained Armando Solano, 24, to question him. But at police headquarters, Solano broke a thermostat inside an interview room when detectives left him alone, Baeza said. On the way to county jail, Solano broke a rear-facing radar in the patrol car, according to police.

Solano was charged with criminal mischief. He is a person of interest in the tire theft case, according to police.

As I walked down in Laredo one day,
I spied a police cruiser, all propped up on cinder blocks.
All propped up on cinder blocks as cold as the clay.
