I've been a bird tree several times over the years.
I did an edit to include the above video as the one below can only be viewed at youtube.
However, it is worth watching.

(8,492 posts)When I was little, we had a parakeet that would only come to me. Hated my parents.

Around my neck of the woods, we have Ring Neck Doves and Wood Doves, beautiful birds.

(11,795 posts)I love birds. So delicate, but strong at the same time.

(72,300 posts)It was a wonderful learning experience for me. I did an audit of the class in '01. Then I spent the next few months going down to Cape May, NJ bird watching.
I have a flock of Diamond Doves in my home. Three generations of them at this point.

(6,011 posts)A small, dark, mysterious museum of interesting old oddities. It is a dimly lit maze connecting dimly lit small rooms with exhibits, some of which are a little bit disturbing. But, when you wend your way up the narrow stairway to the third floor and pass through the tearoom where tea is served from a samovar, you are bathed in sunlight in the rooftop garden and birds alight on the plants as water splashes gently in the fountain~
I was going to put the credit for the photographer, but instead read her blog post with more photos~ a good description!

You could end up with quite a flock at that rate!

(72,300 posts)It has a open grating type of flooring so the eggs should fall through (I hope). I think if I remove the nest they won't be able to sit on the eggs. Maybe that will work. Doves bond for life. It would be cruel to separate them now.
