Looking for advice

My boyfriend and I have decided that the long-distance thing is definitely something we want to end as soon as possible (he lives in Texas and I'm in NC). So, to that end, we both started looking for work closer to each other and he ended up getting a job in the DC area which he decided to take. This is good. I should be able to find something there eventually.

In the meantime, I'd applied for a couple of jobs in Texas (not where he lived but not so far away we couldn't see each other on weekends) and I had one interview on Monday (phone interview). The job is good, I would have taken it had he not gotten the job in DC, if they had offered.

My dilemma now is that I have to call the guy in Texas and take my name out of the hat and I'm not quite sure what to say. That I've decided not to move to Texas after all for personal reasons? I know this person slightly, having worked with the agency before. I don't want to have to turn down a job offer, so I want to tell him before the process gets any further along.
