23 Reasons why you must bow to us Floridians.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/27/florida-best-state_n_4981731.html?utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref&comm_crv

Although I have to criticize them for omitting the most obvious reason of all:

Mother fucking mountain lions living in a mother fucking lowland swamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously folks, if you exclude the politics (and that includes excluding the after effects of having a certain three letter political interest group write truly horrific laws for the legislature), we do in fact rule.

And to make room for the second and third wave, that native beauty had to be plowed under.

Florida has such great natural beauty and yet way too much of it has vanished in the name of "progress."

More than half of California is mountain lion habitat. Mountain lions generally exist wherever deer are found. They are solitary and elusive, and their nature is to avoid humans. (from here)

Keep trying...

Mountain lions living in the mountains are boring.

Mountain lions living in the middle of a swamp, sans mountains: that is mind blowing!

I love Florida. I grew up visiting every Summer with my family so it will forever be a vacation state to me, where no one works and kids don't go to school!

The water really does taste funny though.

I now live in North Georgia and love it here. The only two things I can agree with on that list are that the stone crabs are the best, and the wonderful manatees, which keep getting chopped up by boat motors.

Now if we could just incorporate Louisiana's drive thru daquiris stands, we'd truly rule. I'm tired of driving around with my home made concoctions in McDonalds cups (so the cops cant tell). Lets pass medical cannabis and drive through daquiris

It:

A) Keeps things nice and green

and

B) Keeps away people who constantly moan and whine about humidity as if it were somehow the worst thing to ever happen to humanity, as opposed to simply being the air being a bit more moist.

Win-win

you probably wouldn't be so enamored with the humidity if you worked outside like I do. I've found those who love Florida's heat and humidity don't spend too much time in it.

....but when I'm outside in a hot/humid environment, I don't feel uncomfortable. Even when I'm seemingly sweating perfusely, there's no conscious discomfort to me. Perhaps it's because of how I was raised (my dad had an aversion to AC and we never had it growing up); I developed something of a tolerance to it.

I've watched sporting events out in the humid heat, and so long as I'm well-hydrated, I'm perfectly fine in my element.

Now cold weather, on the other hand, hurts me. And whenever I am in cold weather I wish to go inside as soon as is possible.

I couldn't stand air conditioning for years. And I almost always worked outside.

On cold v hot, I always thought it was easier to cool down on a hot day than to get warm on a cold one.

Cold is like water. It permeates and seeps through any crevice.
