The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsPlease note: it's spelled "TEMPLATE" but it's pronounced "TEM PLIT".
Also, it's pronounced "FLAK SID" not "FLASSID". The double-C is pronounced K then S, just like in the word "accident."
Thank you for reading this.

I used to have a huge issue with the word "drug" when it was used as the past tense of "drag", but upon checking, I found "drug" can be used that way.
And...the word "memento". I got pretty peeved when people pronounced it "MO-mento", but even that way is acceptable.
So..."drug the log up the hill" and "a beautiful momento" make my ears sting, but what can you do...

(21,977 posts)According to the Bake Dictionary of Pronunciation, it's tem-plate and flas-sid. Except I don't even know what flaccid means. I'm just sayin' ... you know ... not from personal experience or anything like that ...

If it's flaxseed then I guess I've been saying it wrong my whole life.
