Some Dream Omens

To see a hare in one's dream portends death.

To see one's reflection in a dream portends a long life.

To dream of birds is bad luck.

To dream of a star falling denotes falling fortune, unless it falls of your head, in which case it is good luck.

To dream of riding a black horse means loss and sorrow.

Two mornings ago (a waking dream) -
I was in my kitchen, which was apparently the only room in the house.
He was a big, pale greybeard in a tweedy suit (one of those "hunting" suits with a belted jacket and jodhpurs), cape, Puritan hat and muddy boots.
He kept accusing me of being a witch and told me he'd let me go if I let him have the meringue pies I was making. I was in the middle of making different fruit types - apricot, apple, lemon, rhubarb with some sort of berry, and lime curd.
I had a pleasant argument with him, got him to agree not to arrest me (I'm not the witch you're looking for) and he ended up leaving out the back door with a large wooden soup spoon, banging his head against the hummingbird feeder as he swirled his cape after him.
And then whole bunch of animals (domestic and wild) came out from behind my stove, which had turned into a cob oven. Damn near Noah's ark behind there. Thanking me in some sort of eastern European language.
I always wanted a cob oven, but never had the yard to make a permanent one in. And I can make some pretty damn-good pies. Oh, and I am family trad; a kitchen witch.

Weird.
