(11 posts)I live with my roommates 3 cats, I consider them mine as well as I take care of them... and I swear I can't recall any of them farting. Never heard or smelt one! lol.
Now our dogs on the other hand.... especially our german shepherd! She could clear a room! lmao.
But really I think it was adopters remorse... poor cat.

(29,067 posts)In the instance of cats vs. dogs, it may have to do with the relative size of the orifice.

(21,925 posts)at least openly. Dogs on the other hand have been prolific farters. When I was a kid and we went on summer vacation, my mom would clean out the refrigerator and give our dog any of it he wanted to eat, rather than throw it away. The milk and ice cream that he ate gave him prodigious non-stop gas emissions all day long in the confines of the family car.

(2,190 posts)He is sitting on me purring away, he farts, gives me a dirty look like, HOW COULD THAT SMELL COME FROM YOU,and then jumps down and licks himself as if to get my smell off of him.

(29,067 posts)Sound like your cat has turned the tables on you -- It's usually humans blaming their farts on
their pets!...Smart Kitty.

(32,084 posts)She doesn't even bother with the dirty looks. She just lets it rip. My first cat would fart on occasion, as well. She was very dignified about it. She'd just stand there with her head held high and her tail up, purring the whole time.

(29,067 posts)so he may have been eating all sorts of fart producing things.
He's now found a new home, so presumably he's "fart free" or it's a fart-tolerant house.
