Update on my post a few weeks ago about the job

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018596005

Well, I just got a call from the college, and I've been asked to interview for the full-time faculty position AGAIN!
Apparently, they have narrowed the choices down to two, and the college president and the dean of academic affairs want to interview both candidates again.
Can this process get any more punishing?

I have never, in my history with the district, ever heard of positions outside of the Administration level going beyond two interviews (screening and final).

Good news: I'm still in the running
Bad news: why do they need to interview us again? It's so nerve-wracking!!!!!

At least outside academia. To be called for a second is a very good thing! Congratulations!

I've been unemployed for 3 of the last five years, the rest of the time I've been underemployed. I finally landed a very good position late February. As I was leaving the parking garage following the initial interview, the hiring manager called to request a second. You have no idea what a boost that was for me. The second was scheduled for two days later, a Friday morning. By the end of that day, I had a solid offer.

The only thing I see to complain about in your situation is that it took so long! I'm happy for you, good luck!
