Back when I was a child in Germany I found a wild hedgehog that had trapped itself headfirst in what may have been a mayonnaise jar. My dad was able to get it out of there and despite my protests he would not let me keep it as a pet.

otherwise he/she is coyote bait.

When my wife was a kid, her father found a fox kit on the farm. They fed it and took care of it. The fox became a pet and was on their farm for several months before instincts took over and it ran off, which was the best outcome.
