It's so typical New England, too. They don't really know their neighbors beyond waving hello, and their neighbors don't know them.

They heard strange noises over the winter from the woods/swamp behind their house. Assumed it was wildlife, which makes sense. New animals move in and made different noises than the old ones.

But then they started finding cigarette butts around their property. Right there -- HUGE red flag.

Now they find out that some neighbors have seen a man coming and going from the woods/swamp up toward their house, and thought they had 3 or 4 sons.

What a sad way to meet their neighbors. Poor puppy was outside alone for the first time, for less than a half hour. Obviously somebody has been watching their house from the woods, waiting for an opportunity to strike. This apparently started months before they got the puppy.

What a horrible event.

There is a family out there mourning the ugly and tragic loss of their beloved fur friend.

Little do they know, that the signature received came from here....

I am so very thankful that I came to DU .... you helped to ease the pain.

They see the petition and know that there are people in this world who care...

And I know it's the people of DU who made a difference for Snoopy.
Now I hope and pray that the ugly soul who took Snoopy's life will pay.

In my heart, I want this person to feel so much pain and remorse ....that it will make a change in his(her) life...
I want this ugly blackened soul to find the light ..... This would be the ultimate ....

I do hope they find who did this. The police should be very worried because the person who could do something so cruel and sadistic is very dangerous. He or she will harm other animals and people. Just awful.
