Saw him a couple years ago at the State Fair with Dave Mason. Great concert. Thanks LynneSin.

I remember ages ago (even before my time) there use to be a show called 'Sing along with Mitch Miller' (I know this because I had an Xmas album by Mitch Miller and every xmas I would play it all the time and sing along with it.).

Thing is this - Steve Miller Band concerts are like modern day versions of those shows since EVERYONE can sing along with Steve Miller!!

is an insult to real bubblegum music, some of which was actually pretty cool!

Based on my views of his gawdawful shit he calls "music," (hell, Ted Nugent sounds better!) I wasn't expecting him to be exactly an Einstein.

But he was so stupid I'm surprised he had his pants on the right way!

When his biggest "hit" is "Rockin' Me Baby," that speaks volumes about just what a blithering idiot Steve Miller is.

... but I can't really disagree. Keep in mind though, that guy singing is not Miller, he's just the guitarist. Not a bad guitarist, but his choice of tennybopper material has helped him sell a lot of records, but not get much respect

Based on the interview I saw, Steve Miller couldn't write anything intelligent if it fell out of the sky and hit him in the head.

And that includes "Fly like an eagle."

Just look at what records sold far more of, during Miller's "peak."

"Shake Your Bootie"

"YMCA"

"Disco Duck"

"Star Wars Disco"

even though i think it's had 3 or 4 names since then - and including it getting torn down and a new arena built next door.

anyway, saw Steve last month in Tampa and had a blast!

Self-plagiarism is still plagiarism, even if generally more permissible.

Because Fantasy Records, not Fogerty himself, owned the rights to his songs. How idiotic.
