I'm ditching work tomorrow

I'm pretty sure my boss is a diehard rethug,so he won't read DU

...having a sushi meal, and then going to see Eddie Izzard...

need to think of an excuse to give him...I put in 80 hr last week, and 60 hr this week...I don't get paid overtime, and I when I ask about comp time...all I hear is crickets....

It's kind of embarrassing when you tell them your beloved great uncle died and they respond "AGAIN?"

I saw Eddie Izzard a couple years ago and he was brilliant. Let us know how it goes. Cheers!

Provide no excuse. If he's not paying you fairly for your time, he sure won't fire you. And if he does, sue him for back pay. I've done it before and as soon as he got the court papers, I had my job back with the proper compensation. If you let someone take advantage of your good nature, what's to stop them.
I know I sound like a rabble-rouser, but if you don't buck, they'll never get off your back.

Enjoy the show! Izzard's hilarious.

They get the day off no questions asked!

Hope you had fun! I always tell my staff if they ever need a "mental health" day to go ahead just give me enough notice to get extra help...
