(7,237 posts)Seven! Wow! I used to foster pregnant momma cats (and then their kittens) for a rescue. I miss having kittens around the house. Little tiny baby kitten squeee... we used to watch them for hours. Glad to hear momma cat is doing well.
Thanks for the kitten-fix!

She must have been bursting...
I'm really glad it has all worked out for the best.

(22,271 posts)And mama kitteh is GORGEOUS! She can go back into heat pretty fast. See if you can get her fixed as soon as the babies are weaned. If it's a financial burden I'm sure DUers will be willing to help. Thanks for the pics.

(2,674 posts)Mama cats are kitten machines and it is important to get them fixed as soon as babies are weaned.

(15,480 posts)I spy with my little eye a calico, some tuxedos, a ginger tom and one all white and possibly one all black.

(1,014 posts)Which worries me since her twin had a litter and only has daddy kitty that looks like him that lived.
They are are not outside kitty's. The only male is a gray tabby. And boy, did he make his mark.
This litter confuses me. I can understand the creame one, since his mother was a part Siamese. I can understand the calico's (so cute, true calico, have white on their faces!!) the tuxicdo's, no clue!! And the orange one, baffles me!!!

(115,748 posts)are extremely complicated. Kittens don't necessarily look like either of their parents if they aren't purebreds, and you can go crazy trying to figure out how they inherited their coats. Some information here: http://messybeast.com/colour-charts.htm and here: http://www.britishbluekittens.com/color.html

(1,014 posts)Funny thing is that there is only one father. She's an inside cat and the daddy comes and goes.

(19,288 posts)That looks a lot like the litter Ralphie came from. She would be the calico and her beloved deceased brother Bob, would be the orange kitty. Ralph is calico but also black and white, white paws, white tummy. Awwwww.

(1,014 posts)We lost the white one. Mama was crying at me and went and looked, the white one had passed. We are very sad, however, pushing on. It must not have been strong enough.
I've been helping Mama out by bottle feeding, since she had such a big litter, and ran out of her milk the other night. I tried, however couldn't save this baby.

(2,015 posts)That must be heart wrenching. Try to focus on the 6 babies that are still here thanks to your help.

(22,271 posts)I've had 3 different mama kitties have litters. The first one had 5 and one passed at 11 days old. The second one had 4 and one didn't make it. That one was only a few days old. The last one had 2 and both made it. Your mama kitty had 7 and I'm not at all surprised that you lost one. It's just something that happens no matter how well they're cared for.

(1,014 posts)However I expected it since Spree's sister had three 6 weeks ago and only one survived.
I'm keeping a good eye on them. Help her with feeding when I can, and when they let me.
