Hapus! Pharrell Williams' Happy gets a Welsh makeover

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/fun-stuff/pharrell-williams-happy-watch-global-7145889
It was the hit of 2013, reaching Number 1 in countries around the world.

Now the feel-good smash Happy by Pharrell Williams has been translated into Welsh.

Groups of people who speak Welsh across Caerphilly have joined forces for the video, promoting the use of the language.

The short musical film, called Hapus, was produced by Welsh language initiative Menter Iaith Caerffili.

The girl whose singing leads the video was 11-year-old Cerys Lloyd from Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni school.

The original has been viewed 247 million times on YouTube .

The Welsh film stars children, learners, young people, adults and language organisations that speak, learn and socialise in Welsh in Caerphilly.

Filming has taken place across the area over the last few weeks, and the song is now available on YouTube. In June the short film will be projected onto the walls of Caerphilly Castle as part of the annual FfiliFest.

From coal miners who settled in Scranton, PA. My grandma was the one who instilled the interest in the Welsh language in me.

Diolch yn fawr i ti!

I really don't know anything about him, he was the first of three husbands my Irish grandmother outlived. I was told that all the headstones there have my Welsh surname on them, which I took as hyperbole. Until I tried to find info on my grandfather. Damn if it wasn't true, lol!
