the old farts strike back

every year in my town there is a charity softball game to benefit the boys and girls club.
Its the high school baseball team versus the town firefighters, and truth be told, its usually pretty one sided.
The high schoolers are just at the end of their season, and ususally run over the firefghters something like 25 to 10.

But not this year, The kids were so cocky and the firefighters had some new slightly younger players.
The game started out like we all expected with the kids jumping out to a big lead, nine-zip or something.

I am pleased to annouce that the firefighters fought and came back in the last two innings to win! 15-14
Maybe the first time ever! it was great to see a bunch of mostly 30's and 40's(being kind) players win
after getting hammered for charity for YEARS!

The kids grumbled about a few calls but mostly were good sports about it.
But they all said wait till next year!

My guess is next year is gonna be ugly for the firefighters
