What's on your summer reading list?

When our family is traveling in a car, we'll take turns reading out loud to each other -- usually something from the kids summer reading lists. Over the years, we've read the entire Harry Potter series that way, all of Rick Riordan's series (Percy Jackson, etc.), The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, as well as Lisa McMann's series "The Unwanteds". This year, I'm planning our summer reading and love some of the selections on my son's list from the school:

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (mandatory)
A Midsummer's Night's Dream (mandatory)

Then it's suggested he pick a couple from the following list:

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens - Covey
Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace...One school at a Time - Mortenson and Relin
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian - Alexie
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope - Kamkwambe and Mealer
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Riggs
The Book Thief - Zusak
Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal - Schlosser
The Things They Carried - O'Brien
The Secret Life of Bees - Kidd

Pretty much all of that list sounds interesting to me, but I'm thinking our travel books will be "Fast Food Nation", "The Things They Carried" and "The Book Thief".

Do you have a summer list of books that you'll finally get a chance to read?
