jetBlue. I just checked a bag for free, spent a whole 30 minutes in the biggest security line I've ever seen, then spent a leisurely 90 minutes eating pasta made at the best Italian restaurant in NYC in the terminal (along with plenty of good red wine), and just enjoyed a calm, sensible boarding starting at the back of the plane. Now I'm watching seat back TV while waiting on a preflight beer. On top of everything my next flight is comped with the miles I'm earning. I guess the seats are a bit small but I'm a skinny guy. Still, $280 roundtrip from NYC to RSW is a hell of a deal.
And no. I'm not paid by them in any way other than my miles, I literally love them so much I'll plug them on my own. Also, I'm gonna check out for four hours cuz they do charge for inflight WiFi.

(43,181 posts)My plane was 4 hours (!) late to arrive the time I used them, meaning I didn't get in to my destination until 1:30 am.
But to their credit, the flight crew was apologetic about it, so we did get free movies and drinks, and that was nice of them. And we got a $100 credit towards our next flight, which I'll be using next month.
The TV thing is okay. It wouldn't be a big deal for me one way or another, but I will say it did allow me to watch the end of the MLB all star game last year. Ironically, I'll be in the air again during this year's all-star game, so I'll again have the opportunity to check it out.

And, finally rolling.

(54,370 posts)I have mostly Lufthansa, Air France and Air Berlin.
My favorite, oddly enough, is Air France. Thirty years ago, they had a horrible reputation. Somebody inside the airline got the message. These days, at least as far as I'm concerned, they go out of their way to provide special meals I request, drive my out to a plane if the bus already left (if it's at a remote location), are really professional. Where Lufthansa is going the way of US airlines, Air France is still doing it the old fashioned way--for the passengers, not the stockholders. I'm Platinum For Life with them, and it's not from flying first class, either.
Air Berlin USED to be cheap and efficient. Now it's only efficient, and not always (more so than Lufthansa, though).
