He'd say that every day was children's day in this house, meaning I suppose that I should be thankful I'm alive.

We have Father's Day for the same reason we have Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Labor Day -- for the department store sales, of course. Marketing. "They" are always looking for ways to promote the idea that we absolutely MUST make purchases for a particular occasion.

And Daddys like the attention.
