The Heart wants what it wants - or else it does not care
-- Emily Dickinson

UPDATED 3:15 PM EDT Jun 11, 2014

HAMILTON, Ohio —A man with a previous record of public indecency was arrested Wednesday morning, accused of performing sexual acts on a pool float for a third time.

Police said Edwin Tobergta, 35, was seen having simulated sex with a pink life raft on Route 4 at about 8 a.m.

Witnesses said Tobergta was nude and in view of nearby businesses and passing cars.

According to police records, Tobergta was arrested for similar crimes in 2011 and 2013.

1. If it's a legitimate sexual act, the pool float has a way of shutting that whole thing down

If this happened out in the open on Route 4, just think How many republicans are doing this out of sight in the privacy of their own homes.

12. I guess technically you could blow one up and use it as a pool float

The male version has a nice "handle" to keep you from falling off.

Sure. It's always the guy who is at fault. As if the pool float had nothing to do with it.

...flat on his back, in the middle of a very busy Downtown Los Angeles intersection (Vignes at Ramirez St, in front of the Patsaouras Transit Plaza).

I was making a left from the far right left turn lane (there are 2 left turn lanes), and I came within about 3 feet of the naked guy, he was hard to see until you got right up on him, cuz he was laying flat on his back, and with the surrounding traffic, he was difficult to see.

He wasn't screwing anything though, like the guy in the OP's story, he was just flat on his back on the hot asphalt, sunning his naughty bits. Weird place for a sunbath, as there is a constant stream of buses and trucks, not to mention cars, where he laid out. He was apparently mentally ill, as I cannot fathom any other explanation for his behavior.

Don't know what happened with this guy. Usually, in this part of town, there are cops of every type - LAPD, LA County Sheriff, Federal Homeland Security Cops, Transit Cops, Amtrak Cops etc etc - within 50 feet in any direction, but, not this time.

I hope the guy got some help (assuming he didn't get run over).

Nor should it be. If he was creating some kind of hazard to himself or anyone else, the authorities should help him. Otherwise I don't see too much of a problem.

...heavily trafficked INTERSECTION in Los Angeles.

Laying in the street, on the asphalt. Not on the side of the road, or on the sidewalk or a bus bench.

You know, an intersection, the kind that cars, buses and trucks drive through, so yeah, he may have especially been a hazard to himself, plus, I would not have been happy about running over the guy, if that had happened.

If he was just running around naked, I wouldn't have mentioned it.

It seem that you missed much of the content of my post.

13. I wonder if this man is mentally ill. If he wants to have sex with a life raft, that's his own

business, but to do it in public----that's a no-no.
