25 years ago today, the cinema world lost a great art director

Millions of people suffered the theatrical release of Batman, and for a quarter century we've had to endure director Tim Burton's medocre, formulaic offerings. Could have been a top notch art director, alas.

Weep with me, Lounge. Weep.

I was a fan, in fact saw his first three movies in the theater, but his decline is so complete and his material so bad that I just have to think he was just a clever fellow with a few tricks and he ran out of those years ago. Between his daddy issues and his inability to tell a good script from a bad one I stay away from his work like the plague. I watched him butcher Sweeney Todd and decided I had enough.
