Falling For A Hard Sell?

A few months ago, I purchased a Verizon smart phone on EBay. The idea was to put the SIM card from my Net10 phone in and run it.

Had what I thought was some trouble with SIM card, so I made some apparent failed attempts to unlock the phone. Figured after I seemed unable to root the phone to take it in to a Verizon store to have them unlock it.

The representative said that the phone was unlocked, and had been in airplane mode.

I now have a month-to-month plan with Verizon. If I can't make it work into the budget, I'll just go back to Net10, I guess.
