we were learning Spanish and I couldn't remember all 7 days of the week. the nun punished me by making me stand in the garbage pail in front of the class. I can't help thinking about that when I see the days of the week in Spanish. It always brings back that memory.

I thought Westport, Conn. was being progressive by offering it (and French) in junior high!

Same teacher for both French and Spanish all 3 years. I can speak Spanish but not French now.

it was my no means a progressive school either. very old school backward nuns.
