I never post in The Lounge, but this seemed to be a good start. It's certainly not GD material.
I'm enjoying a lunch made with our own organic lettuce, our own organic heirloom tomatoes, bread locally sourced from a local bakery...the big chain stores (Whole Foods included) can kiss my ass.
Rant off. That is all.

(12,723 posts)Our gardening skills are weak, and the weather is too hot, but we did bring enough tomatoes in to supplement this year. Got some black beans coming in too.
But I like baking bread a lot more than I do working in a garden.

(12,723 posts)I will ask her later.
The only info I have is she planted late March or early April and she harvested some of them a week or two ago.

(1,695 posts)The hard work & care make em taste so much better. I love em!
One of the other gardeners joked about his $12 cucumbers. Sure, when you account for the work and effort it would be easier to just go to the supermarket. But I know exactly where this stuff comes from. I bought the seeds from organic gardeners, I tended the soil, I know every step of the process. And yes, it makes them taste so so so so much better.
