Took an actual vacation last week for the first time in more than five years. Went to the beach with the family, and with Lola, of course...and she saw that ocean, and said it would be hers.
The ocean won, as it always does; the first little wave that rilled over her toes put her on her ass like she'd been hit by a bus...but she took the trip, and will by-God be back for more.

(34,582 posts)my granddaughter turned 9 months the other day. I am in big trouble with her- she already knows how to give me that look that melts my heart. I must start another thread with pics of her, I don't want to hijack Will and his little cutie.

(54,256 posts)Our grandson was about her age when he first saw the beach at Gulf Shores.
White, white sugar sands.
It's quartz, not coral.
He scooped up a fist full and chowed down.
YUCK, SPIT, SPIT SPIT.
You live and you learn.
Can't believe she's walking.
Bet that keeps you busy.
