Inevitably, someone proposes something revolting or offensive and then the assholes come out of the woodwork to vote for it because they find that kind of social havoc amusing.

One such example was a blind item in a promotions newsletter (a newsletter for people who do promotions, not one of promotions) I used to receive...a company did a "name our new flavor!" contest and immediately the first entry was "Hitler was right.", the second was "Ass! Balls! C*nt!"...by the end of the first day, they pulled and relaunched the contest; all proposals had to clear a reviewer from the marketing department. Of the 4000 first-day proposals...more than 3000 were rejected by the reviewer for being obscene, racist, sexist or otherwise unsuitable.

What we have here is some asshat proposed cappuccino because it would be disgusting...then a lot of other asshats voted for it to fuck with Frito-Lay. Rather than go to the next best proposal, they went with the winner chosen purely because it would be terrible and cost them money.

I figured that one of the finalists would be a sweet flavor, with lay's hoping to capture some of the buzz they got from the Chicken and Waffle flavor last time around. But I don't think the cappuccino flavor is a winner. I tried it earlier today, and, well, it wasn't good. It wasn't quite as bad as one might expect, but I won't be bothering with it again.

So naturally when I saw them at the store today, I had to buy a bag. Haven't worked up the courage yet to try them though. Will post when I do.

The cappuchino chips are not revolting, but not very good either. I haven't tried the mac and cheese ones.

Wasabi and Ginger were good--not quite as good as I was hoping they would be, but they were good. Cappuccino was not good, but not as wrong as it could have been. I've heard the mango salsa were pretty bad, but my store didn't have those or the bacon mac and cheese.

I tried the Chicken and Waffles one last time they did that. A harsh chemical flavor aftertaste because of all the crap that made up the artificial flavoring. I like my cappuccino, but I will certainly not buy any of these. If there is a bag at work like there was for the Chicken and Waffles flavor, I will try a couple.

Peace

The other one might be okay, but there's a reason it never occurred to me to mix coffee with potato chips. Ick.

I wish when they had these contests, they'd sell single serve bags of the contestants. There are/were a few that I wouldn't mind trying, but I don't want to buy a huge bag, especially when it comes to these odd flavors. Hell, I'd even give those cappuccino things a fair shot.

The ones that sell sandwiches, roasted chickens, etc., often have single serve bags of chips. Maybe one of them will carry bags of these exotic flavors.

I really wanted to try the garlic bread and chicken & waffles flavors, but I didn't want to spend all that money on a big bag, either. Not to mention that I really don't need to be eating a big bag of chips. They go straight to the hips.

I love garlicky stuff, but I often wind up disappointed. Guess I'll just stick to Boulder brand Parmesan and garlic chips if I get a hankerin' for garlic-flavored chips.

were no great shakes (and for that somebody won big bucks in their contest). - Despite curiosity I couldn't get myself to pay almost $4.00 for the standard size bag, but when I saw it in the office vending machine for $1.00 I tried it. Meh.
