stupid weather dot com!!!

puts an ALERT: Damaging Winds, Large Hail, Tornado Threat Ahead
in a red bar across the top of the page
i think: oh shit! what the hell's going on outside???
i look at my hourly weather--all nice & peaceful & perfect
i click on the ALERT: bar & it's no where near where i'm at--not even in the same state!!!

i don't need their scare tactics!

now i need a drink just to calm down

good excuse, right?

but seriously--when i was trying to type this it started out:
ALERT! DAMING WINGS, LARGE HAIR, TORN THREAD A HEAD

see? that's how jittery it made me

i'd better have two drunks...i mean drinks!

no, wait!

(whatever this means...)

There's bunches of desktop widgets and browser extensions that will give you personalized weather so you won't have to visit the weather site unless you want to.

There was one yesterday that said "Flood Alert!" and I got all worried. Come to find out, it was 2,000 miles away.

I used to have local alerts on my phone. One day I got an Amber alert. It was the first alert I got and it scared me. An Amber alert! Let's look for the car!

It was for San Diego. I live in Las Vegas. It's about a 6 hour drive. It's like being in Detroit and getting an Amber alert for Indianapolis. I shut them off after that.

during the Direct TV brouhaha good company man Jim Cantore did an ad claiming people would die as a result of Direct TV not carrying TWC. Yo, weather man - it's not 1982 anymore.
