phase 2.3 of anniversary extravaganza is covered and life is good

i worked a booth at a highlands festival all weekend and made enough to cover a second night of riot fest tickets and the first night of the hotel.

this is the fourth year i've done it and i was worried it wasn't going to happen this year because i didn't get the call until about ten days ago because i was banking on it to cover a good portion of the extravaganza. i'm dead tired, my feet are killing me and everything aches, but it was worth every minute of it. it's fun to be doing something different for a bit and the couple we worked for are a trip. they're originally from glasgow and married 46 years and as sweet as can be. they had coffee and pastry for us when we got there, lunch and, this afternoon, a beer. the weather was perfect the last two days, the drive is beautiful and tonight we watched the nearly full moon rise up between the hills as we came down the canyon tonight.

but more than that, it's going toward something really special. i feel like i'm posting about it way too much, but i haven't been this excited about something since our wedding day.

and tonight i got another reminder of just how good a man i married. he rearranged the living room this spring and, for some reason, moved the tv away from the wall with the cable outlet. no biggie, there isn't much worth watching and i'm content with netflix, but then fall drew close. i gave him a three-week notice that the living room was to be rearranged so that the tv was back on the wall with the outlet because football (would have done it myself but i can't move the couch). came home tonight and it was done. he hates football but made sure i would be able to watch it. this is a week after he bought me the coolest present in the history of the universe.

now it's porch time. 61 degrees, belly full of tasty food, liquid and herbal refreshment, and the knowledge that i can sleep until noon tomorrow if i want.

i wish you all such happiness as mine

And, listen: Talk about your anniversary and associated adventures all you want. I love hearing about it.

I know you two will have a complete blast, and that's what it's all about!

i could talk on and on and on and worry about hitting the tl;dr threshold.

of course, i get chatty when i'm more than a few beers in and that is definitely where i am

how's the shoulder?

The shoulder is OK. It's trying to slip again, but my doc and my PT guy are aware, and are advising me on how to avoid this. I'm doing my exercises and taking it easy otherwise. They both said to not overdo using it!

It doesn't hurt and that is a huge improvement!

Thanks for asking, sweetie!

Treat for tired feet, as told to me by an older nurse a long time ago- Stand in tub, or sit on edge. Run warm water deep enough for feet to soak a minute or two. Let water drain out. Run cool/cold water, let feet soak another minute or two. Repeat with warm, then cool a couple more times.
Have a good, long snooze!

my life isn't awful, but it's pretty mundane, so i get super excited when i have something big to look forward to. after this, i still have a visit from my bestie to look forward to. she's been in germany for nine years now and i only see her once every year or two, so it's a big thing for me.

i was planning on soaking my feet before bed, but good tip on the warm/cold water.
