Maybe the worst tease of a headline ever, so I'm spreading the misery.

It's the History of Westeros book.
BOO! to IB Times for the gut wrenching tease.

I gave up on the books.
Frank Cannon
(7,570 posts)He really is never going to end this fucking thing, is he?
I gave up after the last two books. I've read automotive service manuals that have more action and plot development. Good luck to you all.

(56,828 posts)but, I have a feeling the opening of Winds of Winter is going to be bloody - you won't need a bunch of viewpoints if they're all united in Meereen. While I love his character, I'm almost certain Ser Barristan is a goner, and probably Victarion Greyjoy. Part of the reason the "leaks" have Martin saying Tyrion and Dany are apart for most of the book is to ensure he needs those two points of view still...
and, if there is a big battle at Winterfell, do they need Jon Snow, Theon Greyjoy, and Asha Greyjoy, not to mention Melisandre?
Then, if Tyrion or Dany do reach Westeros by the end, do we also need Jon Connington or Arianne Martell?

(5,842 posts)At this point I'm going to have to reread the 4th and 5th books (oh joy) in order to remember what the hell's going on before book 6 does come out.
Or, give that Martin is likely to kick the bucket before this thing gets completed I can just opt to continue watching the TV show as the main avenue for the story.
