seriously - daily. Well actually he and a co-worker shared the ride.

We had many that would easily do 100 miles a day.

Our company contracted his company to do warehousing. His company offered him a promotion to be the on site operation leader. He wanted the job, but didn't want to move, so he and another worker decided to drive it.
All sorts of weather in the north but pretty much a straight interstate shot. They had to be to work at 6am and worked lots of overtime. I think this went on for 3 or 4 years and the contract ended and we found a new contractor.

You may have heard of him. He's Vice President of the United States. He made the commute on Amtrak when he was in the Senate.

in Rhincliff NY. took the train to NYC and did it round trip every day. I loved that train trip.

Hated driving to the train station. It was a great job, a great ride on the train. It was actually cheaper than moving to NYC.

***Plus, I came home top the hudson valley every night.

on edit according to this. I was a about the same or a little more a day.

From Manhattan (which I just chose for a standard NYC location) to Rhinebeck, NY is about 115 miles. Driving it takes about 2 hours, 15 minutes or you can take either Amtrack (from Penn station) or the MTA train (from Grand Central Terminal) to Kingston, NY. From Kingston, Rhinebeck is only 12 miles.

I'd be thrilled if all I had to travel was 220 miles a day. When I run down to Spain and back for the day, I do over 1000 miles in a day.

The mother of a former daycare friend of my daughters commutes to either an IRS or patent office job. She has 15 - 20 people in the van. They take turns driving. She told us that it was one of several such vans

We live in Western Mass so it's about 115 miles round trip. She bought her 2012 Ford Focus in May of 2012 and I bought my Mustang GT/CS at the end of June 2012. To date I have 18,700 miles on the odometer of my car and she has 52,500 on hers. My miles would even less if it weren't for 2 trips to Toronto, 1 trip to Baltimore and 1 trip to Richmond, VA. totaling 3,600 miles. This super commuter Yun Namkung, MD, who lives in Queens, N.Y., but works at Leflore Hospital, a 248-bed regional medical center in Greenwood, Miss. This guy lives on a farm in Augusta Maine and works in Boston a total of 170 miles each way for a total of 9 hours a day (for an 8-hour job). He leaves home at 4:15 AM and returns at 10:15 PM.
