I saw one at a cat show recently - she was beautiful but she hissed at the judge. I don't know if they take off points for that.

Mew.

She was pure white, with a pink nose. Lived to be almost 22 years old.

I'll try to find a picture of her to post.

This was Mewie in her prime...she was my computer buddy, or as I liked to tell people, the cat that I rented my computer space from.
You can see her full, long coat and bushy tail.

Here she was not too long before she died. She developed an oral cancer. You can see the tumor as a black spot above her whiskers. We gave her pain meds until her quality of life deteriorated to a point where it was time to give her the relief she needed

It's been almost 5 years, and I still miss that cat a bunch.

No, not deaf (except when she had us on ignore).
She also had no problem standing up to our 80 lb. Beauceron.

I think the show is Too Cute on Animal Planet. They show litters of dogs and cats soon after birth and then every two weeks or so until about ten weeks. Really sweet. All the animals are beautiful of course. These forest cats were great.

And the cat is not a purebred, etc. She was born to a barn cat.

She's a big girl (about 12-14 lbs) and more hair than cat. She used to be quite aloof with me, but now that there's a baby and toddler in the picture, she immediately jumps on my lap and acts as if she's starved for attention. I've watched Breaking Bad marathons with Lucy on my lap purring.

A female named "Lucy"...

I'll try and get some pics up.

Never had a cat like this before...she's totally unique.

They like to be up high. She spent her first couple months (tiny little kitten) perched on my shoulders...seriously. That was her favourite spot...sleeping on my neck...I could walk around and still have her asleep on my shoulder, lol.

She's a fierce hunter and so proud of her little presents she leaves us...

Just this Saturday AM, I let her in the house, didn't check her before she came in. She had a Blue Jay that was almost the size of her whole body in her mouth...lol. She drops it on the carpet and starts chirping and meowing, she was so proud. I pick the bird up and it comes to life - what a scene..lol. Finally got it out the window though...

She's very chatty. I can always get her to chirp when I say " I love you"...lol. It's so cute...

And the mane this kitty grows in the winter....it's huge and fluffy, just like a lion. Then in the spring you just pull it right out...she sheds it all in less than a day or two...

Love my little wedgie - if you have the chance to get one, go for it. Will not be disappointed.

At my old house we had a cat who was originally adopted as a "rat catcher" - ha! Turned out to be an 8/9-year-old, intensely spoiled Maine Coon. He was perhaps both the neediest and most "talkative" cat I've ever met, never stopped whining for food and/or attention. This would-be mouser pretty much just sat around all day waiting to interact with someone, or be fed (again).

Norwegian Forest cats came over on ships in colonial times which were harvesting tall trees for ships' masts (nothing that big left in Europe.) Some of the cats jumped ship and interbred with cats in Maine--and Maine Coon cats were the result. They are particularly suited for living in cold weather.

We had a Norwegian Forest Cat, a Maine Coon Cat, and a Siberian Cat. Their names were Inga, Junior, and Boris, respectively.

We had pictures of all 3 of them, lined up in different order. They were captioned:

"Inga with her American cousin, Junior, and Russian cousin Boris"

"Junior with his Norwegian cousin Inga, and Russian cousin Boris"

"Boris with his Norwegian cousin Inga, and American cousin, Junior"

But since they were all close to the same size, and the same coloration, most visitors couldn't tell the difference between them.

Hints:

Junior was the big loveable goof who the most athletic, had 6 toes, and never meowed

Boris' fur was the softest and finest, and gave everyone nose butts for pets

Inga was the smallest (at 18 pounds), and quietest voice

Unbelievably, a stray or abandoned huge magnificent cat who just came by our back door one day. He had the most luxurious coat of soft grey and white fur, so long in the winter but shorter in summer. He was such a personality! e could never agree on a name for him, so we knew him as Cat. But he was an awesome cat!

Unfortunately, he had feline leukemia and eventually it got to the point where we knew it was time. I took him to the vet and they agreed, it was time. I held and petted him when they gave him the dose, it was over quickly but very upsetting, I still remember after 25 years. He was eleven or so.

I have lots of pics of him (and my other cats) but they're old fashioned film pictures and I have no way to show them right now. But I do have a drawing I did of him...
