Thanks!
Aristus
(66,399 posts)He matters, and the other hyper-aggressive, anger management drop-outs who get their kicks abusing women and children matter, because the NFL is perfectly happy to look the other way over these crimes if continued play on the field boosts the profit margins.
Just as classrooms full of slaughtered children matter less to Joe the Plumber than his precious gun rights, so hospitals full of abused wives, girlfriends, and children matter less to team owners than the bottom line.

(149,642 posts)Your quote and picture really work.
How disgusting this "man" is. And I used quotes because he's not really an adult; he's only a man biologically.
Shame on the NFL and any other organization for ignoring human rights and for promoting people who boost their bottom line.

(2,581 posts)We all need to stand against violent abusers and those who would give them a 'pass' on their behavior.
Bless you for all you do.

(2,581 posts)Still grieving the loss of my most beloved cat, who disappeared on Halloween Night last year.
Losing her seemed to bring up all the grief I've stuffed over the years for the passing of family, loss of friends, losses involving my work.
I did adopt another cat. It took me many months of work to finally make friends with her. Now she follows me around the house, and sleeps with me at night.
In the mean time, I am trying to reconcile myself to the endings which have happened, especially since it looks like my work is not going to be anything other than a way to earn my living, and a rather bare one, at that. I guess my higher power is nudging me to move on, and put more energy/effort into going after my real interests, even if it isn't likely to provide an income at first.
I have enough back-logged work to do on my home and property to keep an army busy, so I am trying to focus on doing that. Like the song says, "The times, they are a changin'."
I hope all is well with you and yours and wish you the happiest of holidays when they come.
Good old Halloween has opened the door. Thank you for asking.

(66,399 posts)Once, I had to do a physical exam on a baby (a baby! an infant!) who had been abused by her father. I nearly lost my professional composure, and had a hard time getting through the clinic visit.
I could not do your job, Aristus. I would have lost it, for sure.
For the little one's sake, I am glad you were able to keep it together, even if it was barely together.
