Stakes are high when members of the group must go on a heroic rescue mission in a previously known location.krispos42
(49,445 posts)That the person that Daryl brought back with him to the church is Noel, the janitor that escaped from the hospital. Everybody else from the group is accounted for, I think. Except Morgan. But I think Morgan in several weeks behind the group, so he should not be appearing until perhaps the second half of the season. Traveling alone, he can move faster than the group, so he will, if he can track them, ultimately catch up to them.
Therefore, it seems that Daryl and Carol followed the vehicle to the hospital, tried to rescue Beth, failed, and Carol was somehow left behind. Perhaps captured by the hospital staff, perhaps rescued by them.
So the group now has to try to break Carol and Beth from the hospital.
Am I on track?

(56,828 posts)most online speculation I've seen said it's the janitor from the hospital

(56,828 posts)the hotel I'm at says it has AMC on the channel list, but it seems not available on the TV here. I have HBO and Showtime, but no AMC.
Does anybody know if there is a way to get access to AMC on a computer?

(5,604 posts)Not that I'm aware of, I used to have wait until after the show aired and then find a torrent, which meant I watched it about 2 hours late.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)even if I watch it a few minutes behind from the home DVR. Of course, most hotel WiFi is rather iffy in its speed.

(53,339 posts)I checked one link, but I get audio only on that one. You can also check the AMC website to see if there's any livestream or info on it there. Good luck!
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)the hotel WiFi sucks... first world problem, I guess.
pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)On the off chance it's been moved to a different channel number. Some providers have been changing their channel lineups as they offer more channels in HD.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)first thing I did when I checked in was to flip through all the channels after seeing that AMC was not available. (AMC is listed as Channel 12, but that's the Hallmark Channel... )
The receptionist couldn't really help, either. She seemed kind of clueless.

what do you mean?

(17,621 posts)Carol may have stayed there before? Her first husband used to beat her.

(56,828 posts)her late husband was such a sweetheart.

(56,828 posts)I think AMC wanted people to think that it was Beth, but before the season started, it looked like Glenn was going to get battered with a baseball bat, but we know how that turned out.
Joe Shlabotnik
(5,604 posts)but I figured that the body was too small even for Beth, plus the whole "we burn walkers and bury our own thing"

(17,621 posts)Carol was not sent in as a Trojan horse but really was hurt.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)hope I missed a good episode otherwise.
Joe Shlabotnik
(5,604 posts)just a feeling that either she and/or Beth won't make it past the mid season finale.
Brigid
(17,621 posts)That preview did not look good for her.
Baitball Blogger
(46,730 posts)...it was a good thing to make Carol as vulnerable as possible to up the conflict and suspense. Up to now we were looking at her as a superhero, but now her life is literally in the hands of the weakest members. That includes Beth and even Noah who has important strategy information he can provide the others.
Joe Shlabotnik
(5,604 posts)We know Beth is no wall flower, but killing her off after the convoluted abduction wouldn't be fan-satisfying. On the other hand a limping, worn out Carol giving her life to set Beth free sounds believable in walking dead context of things. We already know the cavalry is coming to the rescue, and that Rick is wily and brutal enough to take the cross gang on, so I think it'll come down to some sacrifice scene, to pull it off, maybe Carol, maybe Beth, (maybe even both).
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)if she was killed off after her progress at the end of last season and in Slab Town, it would be pretty frustrating.

(22,239 posts)I hope Carol makes it. Her character growth has been nothing short of outstanding. She has become competent and a good survivor without becoming an emotionless badass stereotype.

(56,828 posts)and then the mid season finale - somebody is going to die, I think?
Daryl
Carol
Beth
Glenn
Maggie
Abraham
Eugene
Rosita
Tara
Sasha
I think Rick, Carl, Judith, Tyreese and Michonne are safe.

(1,893 posts)I seriously cannot imagine the show without Darryl. Fans would riot.
Tara seems like someone they might sacrifice. And probably Noah. But like everyone else, I'm worried about Carol. They'd better not!!
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)but, she keeps hanging around.
Iris
(15,659 posts)At least inside." It's almost like she doesn't want to go on but she's afraid not to.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)but, if they do kill her off, hopefully she goes out with a bang like Bob, or with the dignity of Hershel.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)and, also with Daryl.
How often does Daryl miss with his crossbow? Very rarely. And, he's also the perfect tracker and rarely seems to do anything wrong. He's almost too good to be true. In an action situation with moving targets, it's very easy to miss sometimes, but Daryl rarely does. (Heck, most of the gang seems to get headshots more often than they miss, but Daryl is nearly perfect.)
Carol was a female Rambo in episode one of this season, so I was hoping they didn't make her into a female version of Daryl.
Baitball Blogger
(46,730 posts)They are both in survival mode, and it looks like this last episode was about determining when you have to put a stopper on the kill or be killed mindset or lose yourself completely.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)they both have emotional flaws that were seemingly caused by external factors (Carol with her abusive husband and Daryl with an abusive father and/or older brother)
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)This season, it's been mixed, but Yvette Nicole Brown and her notebook were great, CM Punk (musician?) had a lot of good points, and I thought the guy who played Noah was good as well.
CrawlingChaos
(1,893 posts)She made some interesting observations - things I missed. They should make her a regular.
I like Noah and I'd like to see him become one of the group, but I fear that they're just bringing in new people to be picked off. STILL ... I'd rather they do that than go the Game of Thrones route of OVER-proving they're not afraid to kill off beloved characters.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)I got the impression that it was Daryl and Carol that clipped the walker, and somebody following Daryl and Carol that pancaked it. Is that correct?
pinboy3niner

(1,681 posts)Daryl is not from the comic book. Not only is he a creation from the network but his popularity more than his skills will keep him alive through the ZA (zombie apocalypse).
Brigid
(17,621 posts)I did not know that. I read somewhere, though, that Norman Reedus originally auditioned for the role of Merle, back when no one had any idea what would happen with the show. Now he plays one of the most popular characters on a monster hit TV series. Funny thing, show biz.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)Daryl, Merle and T-Dog were not in the comics. In the comics, Andrea and Sophia are still alive as well. (Andrea in the comics is also far less annoying than TV Andrea. Same with Dale - I liked him in the comics and he had the "Bob" death there with the tainted meat. He was also annoying on the show.)
Also, in the comics, Lizzie and Mika were (I think) and twin boys who basically did the same thing.
