Holiday Food. There is NO food you HAVE to Have

if you don't like it. If you don't like turkey, don't have turkey. You don't have to have stuffing, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, a relish plate, green bean casserole, rolls or any other dish you don't like. If you want lingonberry crepes with goat hash, and sardines as a savory, and nobody objects, have them. If you want to start the meal with sushi, go to soft crabs a' la Fred, and end with shore style soup, do it.

I am known for having a desert for an appetizer and an appetizer for a main meal - do what you feel like, don't feel defined by anyone else.

It's a day for giving thanks for whatever blessings you may have in your life...

Celebrate with the foods YOU love!

bravo and cheers Fuck conventional "wisdom" and traditions. Do whats right, for those that matter, now.

Maybe thanksgiving day should be celebrated each friday with family meals, based upon the weekly paycheck.... hope there is some thanks to be involved. But cutting down to 4 day work week with 52 paid days off would be start.

No one can punish me for refusing to eat the disgusting green bean casserole in white slime. At least not directly.

Although it can be quite awkward, when someone has made something with their own little hands and they're so gosh darn proud of it....

You don't have to eat what you don't want, eat what you do want.
Just don't make any drama about it, and it is all well and good.

if you are hosting Thanksgiving, most people expect at least a few traditional basics. I'd warn people in advance if the menu is going to deviate too much from the norm.

I am a vegetarian and no one understands why I do not eat the turkey or the dressing if there are turkey parts in it.

If they do, I feel bad for you, but blow it off. It's their issue, not yours.

I have a vegan friend. It takes me a little time, thought and effort to put together a balanced meal. But I don't mind. I actually enjoy it.

Maybe it's personality type though. I like to please others. It makes me feel good. I'm happy, when everyone else is happy.

2. And dressing.
3. And gravy.
It's the law.
You could look it up.

If you don't, you can expect to see FBI and the Secret Service agents at your front door forthwith.
Also Homeland Security.
ESPECIALLY Homeland Security.

Sometimes we're called Libertarian Socialists. DO NOT confuse us with the childish Randroids and Conservative rethugs who call themselves Libertarians.

And I do warn people. I ask guests if they have food allergies. My wife is allergic to shellfish and I don't want to make people sick.

I enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving foods. This year we will be hosting a small, family meal. My brother will bring the turkey and cranberries. I will make the mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, asparagus, pumpkin pie. If anyone wants anything else, they can bring it.
