Help. What do I need to learn to communicate with my tweenage Grandson?

So now that we old foggies are texting, on Facebook and tweeting what is it I am going to have to master to send him a message from time to time? He entered Junior High this year, sixth grade and has been online, with supervision, since he was about 6.

How about a pair of tickets to a movie of his choice and the two of you go together and talk a little afterwards. That only works if you are within an hour or so of each other. My great nephews are 5 and 9 and I am constantly trying to figure out how to connect. In my case they like puzzles. If it has to be electronics, I donno. Can you ask their mom or dad? You are a dandy grandpa to be working hard to keep current. Good on ya.

I find Twitter DM (direct message) to be pretty effective as well. There are other social networking apps the kids use like Snapchat, etc. but so far, I have no need for them.

More than email, Facebook, or Twitter.

You can do it!

It's a relic of when shorter texts were cheaper. using it just makes it looks you are trying to hard.
