Reminds me of my dog, Dan. Dan refused to play Fetch. He did it once. I threw a stick, he went and got the stick and obediently brought it back to me. The failure was when I threw the stick again and asked him to get it again.

Dan stared at me and I could see his mind working. "WTF?" Dan thought. "I brought the damn stick back and she throws it away again. No way in hell am I going to play this stupid game." Then Dan went and laid down in the sun for a nap.

The other dog, Rex the Wonder Dog, would play fetch until my arm fell off - then he'd bring me my arm. Rex lived to play fetch. He wasn't any better at catching than the dogs in the video, but he'd happily run out, try to catch whatever we threw and then he'd bring something back. Often it was not whatever we had thrown, but Rex was proud of bringing us something, anything.

RIP, Rex and Dan. I still miss you both.
