(34,136 posts)We have one papershell pecan tree on our farm - but have never gotten one pecan from it. It produces nuts but we don't even try to pick them up. If you do, you find a tiny little hole in the shell - and when you move the shell, the ants come boiling out. It's amazing how many fireants can fit in one little pecan shell!
So I was expecting to see a video of ants coming out of the nutshell.
(Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any of the phenomenon on YouTube. Next fall I'll have to try to video an example.)
